When Beth was 13, she saw a show on TV about a school where all the kids rode unicycles, even in the hallways. She saved up her allowance and bought her own for $38. She taught herself to ride (riding around inside the house at first) and was the only kid she knew in Tallahassee, Florida who could ride a unicycle.
To see if the old adage for bicycles carries over to unicycles, she borrowed a neighbor boy's unicycle and gave it a try. It took a few tries, but she was able to go half a block, and if she'd given it more time, no doubt she would have been unicycling around town again. |
