Bev was the only one in her family to graduate
from college. She went to Purdue University in
Indiana and graduated in 1949 with a degree in
Home Economics.
After graduation, she worked as a home
economist
in South Bend and Denver.
While volunteering at a USO Center in Denver,
she met Arthur Hill, who was in the Air Force.

Bev and Art were married in 1955. They lived for two years in Japan, where Art was stationed, and that's where their daughter, Kate, was born. In 1958, they moved to Ohio, where their son, Marc, was born.

From Ohio, the Hills moved to Colorado for a short time before settling in Southern California. There Bev got her teaching certificate and began teaching grade school. For the next 28 years, she worked as a teacher.
In 1999, she moved to Eugene, Oregon to be near her children and grandchildren.
