Bev was a sociable, easy-going woman who made friends easily. Everyone seemed to appreciate her warmth, dry humor, and outspokenness. Bev kept up with old friends over decades (such as
her childhood friend Ertie) through letters and phone calls.
Even though she'd only lived in Eugene six years, she had dozens of close, caring friends here, such as Sally, her opera-going pal, and her dear neighbors, Dolores and Hugh.
After moving here, she continued to keep in close touch with her best friend from California, Anne Hooper. Anne came to visit a couple of times, and they were great traveling companions, going to Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, and Hawaii together.
After Bev died, we found literally hundreds of cards and letters from all Bev's friends and relatives who kept in close touch and offered her regular support during her illness. Her niece from Florida, Carolyn, was especially supportive and came out for a visit during Bev's last months.
Bev was very blessed to be surrounded by good people who loved her.
