For a tourist in New York, it's hard to watch where you're going when so much of what there is to see is up there.
From brownstones to skyscrapers, I found New York architecture fascinating.
Some of the biggest and most ornate buildings, like the Flatiron shown here, were built during the height of the Depression.
It's astounding how much money and time has been spent to make something functional also be beautiful. But it doesn't go unappreciated.
The buildings of New York are the city's one free art museum.
