Our first day in New York, we took the subway out to Coney Island, wanting to see the place before it's torn down by new owners. The amusement park was closed and the boardwalk deserted, but we did walk around and get some pictures.
We also met a couple of women in their 70's who walked with us and talked about what Coney Island was like 50 years ago. They insisted we at least go to Nathan's for a hot dog -- the best in the city.
