Times Square
For the ultimate rush of overstimulation, you can't
beat Times Square. Any time of day or night, Times Square is aglow with an overabundance of electricity that you can actually see from distant parts of the
city, like a fog settled on the skyscrapers.
When we lived in NY back in 1964-65, Liz Taylor as Cleopatra was the biggest sign on the square. And
the place was so seedy, my parents wouldn't ever
let us get out of the car to walk around at night.
Now, Times Square feels quite safe, with as many
tourists at
midnight as there are during the day.
